The Swedish furniture maker plans to launch a complete system composed of advanced TV, DVD player, blue ray player and audio system - all incorporated into one unit available in a variety of colors.



A few weeks ago, IKEA has surprised the world by announcing a new product: UPPLEVA (in translation from Swedish - "experience")

IKEA TV features:

• Full HD TV
• DVD player
• wi-fi capable
• applications (currently about 20 are in tests)
• 2.1 sound system, wireless subwoofer
•  a variety of cabinet colors to choose from

Of course, special attention was given to the cables, plugs and connectors, that are carefully hidden in the area behind the hidden door of the cabinet. This makes the whole setup really clean.

Leather Keyboard and Mouse

Leather Keyboard is called Honkawa 2 and is currently produced in limited series. It has a volume of 10 copies per month, it's fully covered in leather and it's addressed to those who appreciate the padded leather texture finish. Honkawa 2 is the creation of the Japanese accessories manufacturer, Wagakura.

Aside from the half-melted toffee appearance, this leather keyboard is covered with leather buttons that are engraved individually, oil painted before assembly and uses a pantograph mechanism, designed to give a solid touch feel, even with the surface finish of soft leather.

According to the manufacturer, painted leather finish time wears over time, like a worn leather coat, reflecting the user's personality

You can't have a leather keyboard withouht a leather mouse. Wagakura Workshop provides a leather mouse, perfectly matched with Honkawa 2 keyboard.

If you love beer like I love beer you'll love to have a pair of Bottle Opener Wayfarers. This project is called JackHawk 9000 and I found it on KickStarter. Although they appear as normal glasses, it packs integrated bottle openers on each titanium arm.

The craziest case mod in the world

No, this is not a new military robot! 

I've seen a really interesting case mods in the past but nothing beats this one. I know the title may seem a little definitive but, as you can see, this crazy case mod is unique and goes 10 levels over anything I've seen before.

Design by Wehr-Wolf of Ukraine, this crazy case mod is amazingly precise,  looks like a real-life military robot ready to scare anyone in the room. I'm not sure what's the most scary element: the steel, the gun or the red color that rise from its parts.

Douglas Adams said that if you think the road to the pharmacy is a long distance you should know that it is a breeze compared to the scale of the Universe. He was right. The universe is huge, but it has an edge. Woody Allen was happy about the edges of the universe, because he knew that if he would have lost something, you would find it eventually.

Actually, our Earth is really big. 40,000 km at the equator, but this is not much compared to the distance to the moon, 384,000 km or nothing compared to that to the Sun: 150,000,000 km.

Earth is very close to our Sun. Pluto, for example, is at a distance of 40 times greater. Again, distances in the solar system are very small compared with those of other stars.

The closest star, Proxima Centauri, is at a distance of 260,000 times the Earth-Sun distance, or one hundred million higher than Earth-Moon distance. And Sun and Proxima Centauri are only two certain stars. In our galaxy, the Milky Way, are about two hundred billion of these stars. And our galaxy is a normal galaxy. There are billion galaxies, each consisting of billions of stars in the universe that we see. And we can see only a small part of the universe, because of expansion and the limited speed of light.



Well, we still have much to explore, but first we need to invent the Star Trek warp propulsion.
