Acer Aspire One 150 and JoliCloud

Few weeks ago I received this amazing netbook from my cousin. He knows I'm a gadget freak, so he thought this should keep me busy for a while. Oh, man, and it did. Aspire Acer One 150 comes with preinstalled Windows Xp. I was not so pleased with XP. One of the problems is that Aspire One does not have a dvd-reader. That's no problem. I upgraded to Windows 7 using a Windows 7 iso image (on a 8gb usb stick) and MagicIso.

In order to do that, just copy your original Windows 7 DVD using any image creating software. (you can use imgburn)

Copy that image to a large USB stick. Insert it in your Aspire Acer One, mount it using Magic Iso. In the welcome screen, select install and after that select upgrade. You will lose your Win XP (no harm done there) but you'll be able to run Windows 7 with no problems. It was still not enough for me, so I decided to give Jolicloud a run.

Just go to JoliCloud website, select the installer and follow the quick steps. I recommend a minimum 8-16GB for the installation. Right now, my AAO 150 runs great with two Operating Systems: Windows 7 and JoliCloud.

You can find some prices for AOA150 and the newest versions of Aspire One on Amazon.com

    Future of Screen Technology 2014

I'm not convinced that this advanced touch screen technology will be implemented before or even few years after 2014 to a large scale. But it's interesting to see where technology could go in the next 10 years. I would love to brush my teeth in the morning and be able to read news or watch a video. It's every man's dream.

If someone would have posted this video 2 years ago, I'm sure there would have been even more skeptics, but with the new iPad, the technology doesn't seem that far.

    DTV Shredder - Military Skateboard

The DTV Shredder is presented as the militarized skateboard with two caterpillar tracks.Do you think this will be utilized in the army? My personal opinion is that the soldiers are way better in a tank or a Hummer.

The Greatest Gadget of All Time: Then and Now

You will never guess who won this competition. Everyone has a mp3 player these days, but is there everyone that remembers back in the days when they were luxury items and so widely desired. When the first Walkman (TPS-L2) debuted in 1979, no one had ever seen anything quite like it.

Do you remember the blue and silver colors? The $200 music player just about formulated the concept of "personal electronics." This amazing device was built in 1978 by audio-division engineer Nobutoshi Kihara for Sony co-chairman Akio Morita, who desired to be capable to listen to operas on his frequent trans-Pacific plane trips. Read the full story behind the Sony Walkman here.

Nowdays, Sony is up to date with the new Sony Walkman NWZE345BLK 16 GB Video MP3 Player. The features are way beyond what everyone has ever espected 30 years ago:

Amazing HDR Video produced with Two Canon 5D mark II's

HDR Video allows film producers to work with many arousing new features. Not alone can HDR video produce fascinating effects, it could also provide even exposure where artificial lighting is inaccessible or impractical. For instance, when an actor is backlit, one camera may be adjusted to properly expose the subject, the other the sky, resultant in video with perfect exposure end-to-end.
