The World's Largest Lens

An exceptionally infrequent Nikon fisheye lens has gone on sale in British capital recently: The 6mm F2.8 ultra-wide lens is priced at £100,000 via Grays of Westminster

This 6mm f2.8 camera lens created by Nikon in 1970 is The World's Largest Lens. It was at first planned for scientific use and was never actually put into production.

Samsung Releases Ice Cream Sandwich Upgrade List

Congratulation! Those who are Samsung phone and tablet users can now enjoy the new update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a couple of notable exceptions. The users can see which devices are on the list to receive the latest flavor of Android.
As Daniel Ionescu (PCW) reported that the latest series of Samsung Android phones will be graced with Android 4.0, if you have a Galaxy S, an original 7-inch Galaxy Tab or if you are a T-Mobile customer, you may be out of luck.
Samsung posted on its support pages a comprehensive list of specifics for the Ice Cream Sandwich update in the U.S., saying it is in close communication with both Google and carriers to upgrade devices to Android 4.0 “as quickly and as smoothly as possible.”

On AT&T, Android Ice Cream Sandwich is coming for the Galaxy S II, S II Skyrocket, the Galaxy Note, Glide, Nexus S and the 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab. For Sprint, the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch is set to get the update, while Ice Cream Sandwich for the Nexus S 4G is already available.
For AT&T subscribers, the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Captivate Glide, and Nexus S smartphones are listed, as is the Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet. The half-phone/half-tablet Galaxy Note is on the list as well.
Verizon customers who own the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet are also destined for Ice Cream Sandwich.
The ICS update is already available for Sprint subscribers who own the Nexus S 4G, while those with the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch are still on the waiting list.
Users of the Wi-Fi-only versions of the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 8.9, and Galaxy Tab 10.1 are due for the latest version of Google's mobile operating system.
But T-Mobile customers are in limbo, with no specific devices listed as of yet. Samsung reports that it's been in touch with T-Mobile to make sure eligible devices receive Ice Cream Sandwich in the coming months and will provide more details when available.

Samsung launches Galaxy S III teaser

The Samsung Galaxy S III is pretty close because I can hear a lot of noise coming from Samsung. They just launched a teaser video, related to the upcoming Unpacked 2012 event. Their new slogan is Samsung = "Truly Smart Technology". It's interesting to observe that the video is not about the new smartphone but rather it's about humans. They did not miss this chance to take a shot at Apple fans (the sheep).

this video reminds me of another cool commercial Samsung did a while ago: Funny, right?!

The launch of the iPhone 5 could be delayed

Apple fans and those interested in buying the new iPhone 5 might have to wait longer than hoped. According to research firm Piper Jaffray, the delay is related to problems with delivery of a Qualcomm chipset that's to be integrated into iPhone 5. More specifically, it is the modem chipset developed on a new technology (28 nm), chipset dedicated to Internet connection in LTE networks.

The market demand for this chipset is very high, and Qualcomm is urged to spend more money to speed up production. According to Qualcomm CFO, Bill Keitel, they are spending tens of millions of dollars on this project.

Nokia 808 Pureview Video Test

Folks at Nokia just released a new video shot entirely with Nokia 808 Pureview. For some reason I'm not sure about this one, since everyone seems to avoid Symbian.

The Bullet Watch

Following The Engine Watch, I would like to present a fresh and unique design: The Bullet Watch.

Designed by Yvan Arpa, The Bullet Watch combines bullets and timepieces in fresh and outstanding appeareance. I'm not a fan of guns, but I would buy this piece.

The watch is called Sun of a Gun, and the concept is a metaphor, meaning that time is a killer. This is just the beginning of Arpa's long range of morbid watches. via artya.com

Canon 7D and 60mm Macro Lens Indoor Testing

Playing with Canon 7D and 60mm Macro Lens

I bought a Canon 7D movie setup recently and I want to share some indoor photos that I've taken today. These is the first indoor test, so endure the quality.

Lens: Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Digital SLR Lens for EOS Digital SLR Cameras

note: The images were taken in low light conditions, sometimes with flash. I've used manual and auto focus and manual settings. These are not the originals, I've adjusted the brightness and resized them.
